How it came to be…

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland and living in Whatcom County since 1982, Boel started her very first job as a bus girl at the Blaine Harbor Café’ over 30 years ago. In 1996 she started as a server at the Quarterback Pub & Eatery and worked her way up to bartender and then into management over the next 11 years. In 2008 she gifted her bartending services to a friend for her wedding and shortly afterwards was put on the preferred bartender list at Evergreen Gardens. A fellow bartender was in an accident that year and asked Boel to take over the 12 weddings they had scheduled that summer and she did. That summer she did 32 Weddings. This was the official beginning of Beverages by Boel. Her focus is customer service and her goal is to be the best beverage catering company in Whatcom, Skagit and Island County.

In addition to her beverage catering service, Boel also works part-time for Secret Harbor, a foster care resource agency, as a Group Home Care Councilor. She also has a heart for local nonprofit work and has donated her services to Bethany Christian Services annual fundraiser (a nonprofit adoption agency). She has donated equipment to support the Blaine Chamber’s fundraising activities, and has donated her services to the Lynden Line Dancer's annual Barn Burner fundraiser that benefits Heroes & Horses, a Montana based nonprofit that supports combat veterans suffering with PTSD.
